The Saint's Mistress: A Divine Chat with Kathryn BashaarThursday November 21, 2019
2:00 PM until 3:00 PM
Join us for a literary tryst to the fourth century as author Kathryn Bashaar talks about her historical novel, The Saint’s Mistress!
Told against the backdrop of the fall of the Roman Empire and the rise of Christianity, the book breathes new life into the previously untold story of Saint Augustine’s beloved mistress.
We’ll sweeten the mood even more with a cornucopia of divinely decadent desserts. Here’s a Confession: you won’t want to miss this chance to be as happy as a Hippo!
Before she could even read, Kathryn Bashaar earned the nickname “Suitcase Simpson” for the little suitcase of books she carried everywhere she went, and her passion for literature has continued into middle age. Her essays and short stories have been published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Civil War Times, and the literary journal, Metamorphosis. Kathryn lives in Pittsburgh with her husband, Al, and is thrilled that both of her adult children and her first grandchild live nearby. The Saint’s Mistress is her first novel.
