New Program! Kindergarten Readiness Kits
Young children learn best when they are able to construct knowledge through meaningful play, active exploration of the environment and thoughtfully planned activities. The Kindergarten Readiness program is a self-lead program that includes a calendar highlighting a daily early literacy activity and a kit filled with supplies that support learning. Learning occurs through the context of play and hands-on discovery. Participants will receive a bag of supplies and will be able to create a small learning center at home. This program focuses on key learning areas such as colors, numbers, letters, reading and writing. The kits are funded through PBS Education and Clearview Federal Credit Union.
Because the program is grant funded, participants are asked to fill out a survey at the end of the program. Register and we will contact you on how to pick up your materials. Space is limited.
Children’s learning is enhanced when families, schools, and communities work together. With many preschools not open during the pandemic and with kindergarten fast approaching, the Whitehall Public Library is partnering with PBS Education and Clearview Federal Credit Union to provide ideas and materials for hands-on kindergarten readiness learning activities.
