5:30 PM until 8:30 PM
This class is offered free to Worcester community citizens through a grant from the Greater Worcester Foundation
Thinking about publishing a book but aren't sure what to do? Have you already published but don't know if you should do the same thing for your second novel? How do you get people to know about your book? Does advertising really work?
This class discusses traditional and independent publishing, and basic book marketing. The segment on traditional publishing will cover query letters, finding agents and publishers, the value proposition for small press, and author responsibilities. The segment on independent publishing will cover book content, formatting, tools (Amazon, Ingram Sparks, Vellum and Scrivener) distributors (draft2digital and smashwords) and distribution channels. The final segment on book marketing will cover social media, advertising, discoverability, libraries, and bookstores.
