Urban and Suburban Meadows
Sunday March 26, 2017
1:30 PM until 3:30 PM
The Citizens for Lexington Conservation and the Lexington Field and Garden Club are hosting two events that focus on how individual homeowners and community groups can create Meadow Landscapes populated with Native Plants that support native pollinators and birds.
The first event will feature the movie Urban and Suburban Meadows, which explains and illustrates the virtues and practicalities of replacing a conventional lawn with meadow landscaping. In the movie, Catherine Zimmerman, an award winning photography director and a certified horticulturist and landscape designer, weaves her personal journey of changing her own landscaping choices into a guide that demonstrates both the need to change current, detrimental landscaping practices and the practical know-how and resources to accomplish that change. Following the video, local experts with experience in creating natural backyard habitats will answer questions from the audience based on their own experience.
Event will be held at the lecture room at Cary Memorial Library.
Event is free and refreshments will be provided. Come join us!
Location: Cary Hall, 1605 Mass Avenue
