Bassoon and Chorus
Sunday October 29, 2017
On Sunday October 29 at 4:00 pm The Master Singers of Lexington will open the season with the latest in our series of collaborative concerts with prominent local instrumentalists. Bassoonist Gregory Newton joins The Master Singers for the romantically expressive Dona Nobis Pacem by the 20th century Norwegian composer Egil Hovland. We will pair Hindemith’s Bassoon Sonata with his Six Chansons on poems by Rilke, and complement the Hovland with some little known choral works by his countryman, Grieg. Please join us for a reception with seasonal refreshments after the concert. First Parish Church in Lexington, on the historic Battle Green at 7 Harrington Road, is fully accessible with ample free parking. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. Discounts are available to subscribers and Greater Boston Choral Consortium members and from members of the chorus. For information and directions see www.themastersingers.org or call 781-275-1478.
Location: First Parish Unitarian Church, 70 Harrington Rd, Lexington MA
