Discussions after Dinner
Wednesday November 15, 2017
6:45 PM until 9:00 PM
Join the FREE, open to everyone, community discussion group entitled Discussions After Dinner. 6:45 to 9 PM on various Wednesdays. At the Lexington Community Center (alternating with the Cary Libary). A different, interesting, open ended topic is pre-selected for each meeting. Tonight's topic is sexuality. Everyone is invited to share their views, and the conversation flows as it would around a dinner table---civilized, far reaching, thoughtful, and courteous, with no one monopolizing the discussion. Your comments set the tone, topic and direction. Sexuality and aging? Sex education? STDs? Dating? Monogamy? Alternative sexualities? The current issues of movie stars and politicians involved in sex scandels? What's appropriate and inappropriate behavior? How do you teach your kids about sexuality? What about your parent's sexuality in retirement or nursing homes after the death of their partner? Sex and the media? For example... (Upcoming discussion group topics will be, at future dates: Money/investing/estate planning, and after that, we will discuss How to make and retain friendships as an adult. Lonlieness and being alone are huge issues for many people. Not everyone has friends or family, and technology has made alienation more prevalent. How do you connect with someone new and get beyond "acquaintence"?
