The Poetry and Legacy of Gwendolyn Brooks

Munroe Saturday Nights is honored to celebrate the centenary of Gwendolyn Brooks’ birth with an evening of Brooks’ poetry and original works inspired by her, read by fourteen noted poets from the greater Boston area. Poets scheduled to read include Nancy Boutlier, Bob Carr, Jennifer Clarvoe, Tom Daley, Regie O’Hare Gibson, Krysten Hill, Dorian Kotsiopoulos, Julia Lisella, Kathy Nilsson, Sabrina Sadique, Lloyd Schwartz, Joyce Swagerty, Cammy Thomas, and Jonathan Weinert. Regie Gibson, who studied with Brooks, will share personal reflections of her influence on poetry and his work.
