Martin Luther King Jr. In His Own Words
Friday April 27, 2018
7:30 PM until 8:45 PM
Join us for a memorial concert honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Commemorating MLK's life 50 years after his untimely death, five Boston composers will premiere original compositions based on the words of Dr. King. This concert, presented to reflect an order of service, will feature music for soprano and string trio, the spoken word, and poetic reflections.
As one of the greatest civil rights pioneers, preachers and orators of his time, his words remind us of the ongoing struggle for justice, peace, and the call to love.
Performers include Lexington residents, Regie Gibson, Elizabeth Whitfield, Jane Sheena and LHS Graduate, Alexandra Whitfield, soprano.
Suggested donation of $20 at the door. A second perfomance will take place at B.U's Marsh Chapel on April 29, 2018 at 3.00pm
Location: Follen Church
