Session 3: Environmental Heroes. Read-aloud book The Camping Trip That Changed America, based upon Teddy Roosevelt and John Muir. Next a video clip on Jane Goodall, showing chimpanzees using tools. Brainstorm more qualities of a hero. Readers from the past week receive a reward. Activity: two groups created a scene depicting Teddy and John in the Giant Sequoias or a scene depicting Jane with the chimpanzees.
