Marilyn O'Brien will be here to speak about how to research your Swedish ancestry.
“Tips for Researching Your Swedish Ancestors” will be presented by Marilyn O’Brien at Amesbury Public Library, on Monday, September 25th, at 5:30 pm. This presentation combines pictures of Sweden with digital images of records that provide information useful in exploring the lives of your Swedish ancestors. Techniques for locating places of residence, as well as the records that can be found there, will be demonstrated. A handout that includes useful resources, including websites and translations of common Swedish genealogical words, will be provided. The presenter is proud to be half Swedish-American, and has done extensive Swedish genealogical research for over thirty-five years, has visited Sweden, and has met many cousins there. Much of her training was provided by genealogists from Sweden. She has been a member of the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists, Swedish Ancestral Research Association, and Shrewsbury Genealogy Club for many years.
Registration is required.
