Event: Passages and Pathways: How Book Passage Serves Readers and Writers

Thursday September 18, 2014
7:30 PM until 9:00 PM

Sam Barry, Book Passage
Passages and Pathways: How Book Passage Serves Readers and Writers

Sam Barry will talk about Book Passage’s Path to Publishing program, a resource for the individual writer. Utilizing mentors and other consultants, PTP helps writers clarify which publishing choice is best for them:  traditional, independent (self), or some alternative option, as well as how to make solid decisions on editing, book design, printing, e-book production, distribution, marketing and promotion. Sam will also talk about Book Passage’s writing classes and conferences.

Sam Barry is the author services liaison for Book Passage’s Path to Publishing program. A publishing professional with 25 years of experience, Sam has a popular blog on Redroom.com, is a contributing editor at the literary magazine Zyzzyva, and serves on the board of San Francisco’s literary festival, Litquake. He is the author of How to Play the Harmonica: and Other Life Lessons. As a member of the Rock Bottom Remainders Sam edited and coauthored the interactive e-book Hard Listening: The Greatest Rock Band Ever (of Authors) Tells All.
