In this age of the internet, Google is our “go to” for answering all sorts of questions. A search engine can be a great resource for finding driving directions or a curry recipe, but is Google the best way to answer your health questions? When it comes to your health, don’t leave anything to chance.  Wendy Urciuoli, Consumer Outreach Librarian at UConn Health’s Lyman Maynard Stowe Library will share tips and techniques for finding reliable answers to your medical questions.

Participants in this class will:

* Learn how to evaluate the reliability of health websites.

* Learn how to find trusted sites for information on drugs, tests, diseases, treatments, and nutrition, and healthy lifestyles.

* Acquire tips and techniques for smarter searching on health topics.

Wendy Urciuoli has over 14 years of experience as a medical librarian. She has worked in public, academic, and hospital libraries. Currently Wendy manages HEALTHNET, a consumer health information service based at the Lyman Maynard Stowe Library on the UConn Health campus.
