Our Reel World film series introduces you to thought provoking documentary films for learning about the people and cultures of the world. This month's feature is Miss Margaret.
Once there were thousands of licensed Granny Midwives throught the South. Now there are none. Who were they? Where did they go? Because of segregation, many americans knew nothing about natural home birth with experienced Grannies like Margaret Charles smith who learned from each other and could deal with breech deliveries, multiple births and other situations with no medical instruments or drugs.
