In the Evil Day: The Story of the New Hampshire Crime That Shook the World
Wednesday July 12, 2017
6:30 PM until 8:00 PM
2017 will mark the twentieth anniversary of New Hampshire’s version of the Kennedy assassination: that day in August, 1997, when a 62-year-old carpenter named Carl Drega murdered four leading citizens in the little town of Colebrook. Author Richard Carey will discuss these events and his book, In the Evil Day: Violence Comes to One Small Town.
Richard Adams Carey grew up in Connecticut and is a 1973 graduate of Harvard University. He worked odd jobs, taught for ten years in the Yup’ik Eskimo villages of western Alaska, served on the board and as president of the New Hampshire Writer’s Project, and is now on the faculty of the MFA in Fiction and Nonfiction program at Southern New Hampshire University.
