9:00 AM until 2:00 PM

Annual Book Sale & Children’s Summer Reading Kick-Off Party with Balloon Artist Ceil Riveras

Please join us for our annual book sale, ice cream social, and summer reading kick-off event!

We have a huge selection of soft and hard cover books of all types. Whether you love fiction, non-fiction, mysteries or romance, we have books for you!

Our sale coincides with the Children’s Room Summer Reading Kick-Off event. There will be ice cream, games, activities, and special balloon creations for children. Balloon artist Ceil Riveras will be at the event from 10 – 11:30 am. The Ice Cream Social will take place from 11 AM – 2 PM and is for all ages.

Summer Reading books recommended by the schools will be available to borrow.  The superintendent of the Ashburnham-Westminster School District, Dr. Gary Mazzola, will be joining the celebration and is looking forward to meeting parents and children in this informal, celebration of summer reading.

Sign-up children ages 0 – 11 for a chance to win prizes for keeping up their reading over the summer.  Babies and non-readers can earn prizes for being read to or doing other early literacy activities with parents or caregivers.

Our Teen and Tween summer reading program does not require registration. Kids entering grades 6 – 12 can begin receiving prizes on June 21st just by checking out materials (one prize per day limit). Please see our Teen & Tween news below for details.

The book sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Westminster Library and all proceeds benefit library programming and services.
