YA Lit Lovers Book Group
Tuesday November 13, 2018
7:00 PM until 8:00 PM
Are you a little less Y and a little more A, but can’t get enough of YA books? It’s ok, no really, it’s okay. This book group is for you! Whether you first found yourself drawn to teen books when the Hunger Games hit the big-screen or if you have been a lifelong fan, this group is for you. Funny, heart-wrenching, time-traveling, world-bending, stereotype shattering YA books have been making a mark on society for decades and it’s time for us adults who love them to stop hiding in the shadows. We meet monthly on the second Tuesday of the month at 7PM at the Farmington Main Library. A limited number of copies of each book on the list will be available for loan at the library, or bring your own! Refreshments will be provided.
NOVEMBER'S BOOK: Scythe by Neal Shusterman
A world with no hunger, no disease, no war, no misery: humanity has conquered all those things, and has even conquered death. Now Scythes are the only ones who can end life—and they are commanded to do so, in order to keep the size of the population under control. Citra and Rowan are chosen to apprentice to a scythe—a role that neither wants. These teens must master the “art” of taking life, knowing that the consequence of failure could mean losing their own.
Location: Board Room 1
