South Shore Locavores: Informal Potluck and Discussion
Thursday September 21, 2017
7:00 PM until 9:00 PM
After seven years of great South Shore Locavores programs about local food, we're looking at changing things up a bit. We have thoroughly enjoyed the ride, and now we're ready to try some new ideas. For the September 21st program, we invite you to join us for an informal potluck and discussion. Bring your best ideas for the kind of programs you're most interested in. We'll share ours, too.
Sharing food is always fun, so we invite you to bring a dish -- but if you’re not a cook or don't have the time, come anyway. What we're really interested in is your ideas!
The South Shore Locavores series -- a collaboration between the Kingston Public Library and edible South Shore & South Coast magazine -- looks at what it means to eat locally. The series has been running since January 2010.
Programs will be held from 7:00 to 9 p.m. at the Kingston Senior Center, 30 Evergreen Street. The programs are free, but donations are gratefully accepted to help cover program expenses.
See the list of Locavores programs for this season on the edible South Shore & South Coast website. Topics and location may occasionally be changed.
The Library compiles themed resource lists for each Locavores session. And there are always great door prizes!
Attendees are invited to bring a dish to share. There will be time at the break and end of the meeting for munching and mingling.
TEAM UP AGAINST HUNGER: To help fight hunger on the South Shore, there is a collection box for non-perishable foods at each gathering for donation to the Greater Plymouth Food Warehouse.
Location: Kingston Senior Center
