Make it Real: Civil Disobedience
Wednesday September 27, 2017
7:00 PM until 8:30 PM
Join us for a discussion of civil disobedience with the Rev. Nannene Gowdy.
Civil disobedience is a public, non-violent and conscientious breach of law undertaken with the aim of bringing about a change in laws or government policies.
Rev. Goudy began her resistance avocation in 1959 with a Ban the Bomb march. She continued by being active in the Civil Rights Movement in Boston in the 1960s. In the 1970s, she was active in the Feminist Movement. By the 1980s, ministry led her to working against injustice from within the system.
