The Kindness Cure:Rescheduled til March
Tuesday February 13, 2018
7:00 PM until 8:00 PM
This program is rescheduled to a later date.
Just in time for Valentines Day and National Random Acts of Kindness Day (February 17, 2018), we are hosting a wonderful speaker on the topic of being kind to others and the great benefits it brings to us all. This evening local author Tara Cousineau, Ph.D, will give a one-hour talk about her new book called The Kindness Cure: How the Science of Compassion Can Heal Your Heart & Your World (New Harbinger Publications, 2018). "It's time for a kindess revolution!" These days kindness seems to have a bad rap! We've become suspicious of it. On the one hand, being kind seems too soft and easy; on the other, we don't quite trust it. Yet we lament that we don't see more of it. It's easy to look around and see nothing but cynicism or feel overwhelmed by the world. Dr. Cousineau contends that kindess is neither a sweet platitude nor something to check off in the Do-Gooder category. Kindness takes effort - and it's worth it. Kindness deeply affects our health and well-being. Her book is a blend of story and science that is sure to change how you think about kindness. Ms. Cousineau is a clinical psychologist, meditation teacher, well-being researcher, and social entrepreneur. She is affiliated with the Center for Mindfulness and Compassion at Cambridge Health Alliance in Somerville, MA and resides in Milton. Please join us for an inspirational evening with a prolific writer.
