Your Collection Life Cycle [Peabody]
Tuesday September 16, 2014
1:00 PM until 4:00 PM
Library collections are one of the most demanding and time-consuming aspects of library staffs’ work. In this workshop, we will discuss the complete life cycle of library materials: what do you buy, how, and when? Should you outsource? How do you make it relevant to your patrons? When should you get rid of materials? What if someone tells you to keep it? Learn about resources and tools to help keep up with all of the latest titles coming out, and the ways to decide what needs to be weeded. All of this and more will be up for discussion.
