Jersey Shore Poets presents Poets Live! A celebration of National Poetry Month
Feature poet BJ Ward will read from his work. After a short break, twelve members of Jersey Shore Poets will also share their poetry from First Edition, their new anthology. The day will wrap up with an open mic session where attendees may sign up to read 1 or 2 poems of their own (maximum 3 minutes, please).
BJ Ward is the author of four books of poetry, most recently Jackleg Opera: Collected Poems 1990-2013. His poems have appeared in Poetry, American Poetry Review, TriQuarterly, The New York Times, The Normal School and The Sun. He is the recepient of a Pushcart Prize and two Distinguished Artist Fellowships from the NJ State Council on the Arts. His website is www.bj-ward.com. He is a Professor of English and Creative Writing at Warren County Community College.
