Indian Cooking Class: Tomato Rasam
Our favorite Indian cook, Ann Manchella, will demonstrate the preparation of another tasty vegetarian food from India: Tomato Rasam. Rasam is a spicy soup made in South India using lentils, pepper, tomato and other spices. It is very nutritious and very good for digestion. It is eaten along with rice or drunk after a meal. It is usually difficult to find a healthy dish that is also appetizing, but rasam is one of those dishes!
Watch her preparation and taste a generous sample. Copies of the recipe will be available for you to take home to try it for yourself.
Registration is required for this adult program and begins on April 15. You may register online, in person at the adult reference desk or by calling 412-366-8100, extension 113.
