Audience: K-12 educators, therapists, and paraprofessionals working with students with multiple disabilities and/or Autism.
Description: This workshop is a comprehensive guide to teaching social communication in the classroom, and fostering self-regulation and executive function skills. Social Skills in Action will present content, strategies, and technology applications that focus on:
- Supporting students' development of executive function skills and situational awareness;
- Facilitatint social communication in the classroom, and
- Fostering social emotional skills and self-regulation.
BYOD: Technology applications will be introduced (primarily for iPad) with time to practice.
PDPs/Hours: 4 hours
Registration Fee: $89 NRC member districts. $99 non-member districts.

** About the Presenter: Brittany Lehane, M.S. CCC-SLP is a Speech-Language Pathologist based out of Boston MA. Her experience includes working in public school, private practice with a clinical focus on social skills, and consulting services to school districts related to assistive technology and alternative/augmentative communication. Brittany provides educators and therapists with practical skills and tools needed to provide social cognitive intervention targeted at increasing students’ executive function and self-regulation skills. Brittany also creates the Everyday Speech Social Skills Video library.
