RETELL - SEI Teacher Endorsement Course

North River Collaborative (NRC), in partnership with MATSOL, is pleased to offer the 
SEI Teacher Endorsement Course. This is an ESE approved route to SEI Endorsement for all educators.

Description:  This SEI Teacher Endorsement Full Course focuses on current theories and evidence-based instructional practices related to the teaching of ELLs. This course is designed to promote continuous improvement in educator practice and to build teachers’ confidence and familiarity with research-proven practices for working with ELLs. Throughout the course, effective research-based strategies will be modeled. Teachers will have opportunities to: practice the modeled strategies, analyze their practice, provide and receive feedback, and reflect on their experiences. Through this cycle of reflective practice, teachers will gain new skills, knowledge, and dispositions for the education of English learners.

Presenter: Grainne Coen, M.Ed. 
Audience: Teachers, other educators & administrators who completed zero or one ELL Category training. Participants do not need to have an EL student currently in their classroom. 

Dates: Face-to-face, online, and capstone sessions in Fall 2018 (September to December) 

• 12 Face-to-face Class Sessions: Tuesday afternoons (4:00-7:00 PM) - full attendance is mandatory:
  Sept.18, Sept.25, Oct.02, Oct.09, Oct.16, Oct.23, Oct.30, Nov.13, Nov.20, Nov.27, Dec.04, Dec.11, 2018
• Online Sessions: Eight sessions TBA 
• Capstone Sessions: (Tues/Wed) Participants will attend one 2-hour session:
  Dec.18 (4-6 PM); Dec.18 (6-8PM); Dec.19 (4-6PM); Dec.19 (6-8PM), 2018
• Make-up Sessions: Only used in case of class cancellation (4:00-7:00 PM) 
  Dec.05, Dec.12, 2018; Jan.08, 2019

Location: North River Conference Center, 525 Beech Street, Rockland, MA 02370 

Cost: $529 per person. Payment must be received by NRC before your registration can be confirmed. 
PDPs: 45 hours. 67.5 PDPs. Three (3) Graduate credit available through Fitchburg State University for an separate fee of $285 paid directly to the university at the first class meeting.
