Event: Forum on Immigration and Environment: Pittsfield City Council Candidates

Monday September 25, 2017
6:00 PM

Pittsfield Police Chief Michael Wynn has graciously stated that he has agreed to make a brief 15 minute presentation about Policy 413 regarding the Pittsfield Police Department and its policy regarding to immigrants. There will not be separate forums for wards or at-large candidates.· The candidates will have a pool of questions on immigration and the environment provided in advance.  They will be asked to provide a quick “YES” or “NO” and perhaps a short follow-up explanation that should not take more than a minute.  There will certainly be a question on banning single-use plastic bags in the City of Pittsfield. They will be expected to given an answer as to whether they would support the proposed draft ordinance.

If time allows, there may be questions from the audience at the end. Questions at the end MUST be related to the environment and immigration and MUST be limited to issues that the Pittsfield City Council may act by way of legislation, policy, or program.

The event will be free and open to the public; the press will be invited.

This forum is being sponsored by Manos Unidas and Berkshire Green.
