Playwright's Journey: Soaring Through the Blind Spot @ CENTRAL
Thursday August 17, 2017
10:00 AM until 12:30 PM
What is the Story you long to tell? This three-session course will help you find that story by working through your Writer's Blind Spot.
Along the journey there will be written and improvisational exercises to help you use Dialogue for exploring Character, Conflict and Plot. Overall you will produce short Monologues and Scenes which will come together in a Short-Short (a One-Act Play of 10 pages or less). Each session will end with a chance to share what you have written.
Open to novice and seasoned writers ages 18+.
Sandi Dollinger is a theatre/artist who has taught playwriting as far abroad as Warsaw, Poland. She currently teaches Presentation and Performance at the College of St. Rose.
A month ago her play, "Make Bread Not War," enjoyed a reading in Chicago at Voices for Creative Non-Violence. Her new play, "Under the Aguacate Tree," about an undocumented immigrant, has been chosen for production at The Players’ Ring in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Space is limited. You must attend all three sessions.
