Mariachi is an important part of Mexican folk culture, known for its vivid vocals, driving string rhythms and soaring trumpet melodies. Mariachi Flor de Toloache takes pride in choosing material from the traditional mariachi playbook but also uses other musical influences within their work. Their original songs and new arrangements reflect the influence of salsa, cumbia, gypsy music, Latin jazz as well as pop, hip-hop and even soul music. This free concert film will be presented in the Program Room and will run from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Registration begins Wednesday April 12th.
