Book: Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil: A Savannah Story by John Berendt.
On the morning of May 2, 1981 shots rang out in the Johnny Mercer mansion in historic Savannah launching a decade-long murder investigation that featured an almost unbelievable assortment of colorful eccentrics who called the city home. Though this is a thoroughly-researched work of nonfiction, it reads like a well-plotted mystery novel. Non-alcoholic Cocktail: Georgia Ginger Peach Punch
Upcoming Happy Hour Book Discussions:
- June 14th at 5:30 p.m. Book: A Trip to the Beach: Living on Island Time in the Caribbean, by Madeline and Robert Blanchard. Non-alcoholic Cocktail: Safe Sex on the Beach
- July 19th at 5:30 p.m. Book: A Girl Named Zippy by Haven Kimmel. Non-alcoholic Cocktail: Cranberry Cutie
