Protect Our Water
Tuesday August 22, 2017
6:30 PM until 8:30 PM
Southington resident John Sokolowski returns to provide updates to the public information concerning the Tilcon expansion into Bradley Mountain on behalf of Protect Our Watersheds CT. In 2016, Tilcon and Mayor Erin Stewart began promoting their plan to excavate further into Bradley Mountain, just north of Crescent Lake, offering to turn the quarry into a drinking water reservoir in 40 or so years. Protect Our Watersheds CT will be giving a short presentation followed by a Q&A session regarding this issue and what has happened since the Southington presentation last July. The discussion will include the value of natural watershed land and how it improves everyone’s wellbeing, what’s at stake in the Tilcon Quarry expansion proposal, the status of the plan, and what you can do to get involved. Visit the Protect Our Watersheds CT website for more information.
