Thursday June 14, 2018
5:00 PM until 6:30 PM
Come to the Mason Square Branch and learn about edible plants from New England--chances are there's something tasty growing in your back yard!
Naturalist, John Root, will present an introduction to the identification and uses of wild plants for food and beverage. During the program he will go over distinguishing characteristics, seasons of availability, habitats, methods of preparation, and nutritional and medicinal value of our region’s most common and appealing wild plants.
Illustrated pamphlets with plant descriptions, guidelines for responsible and safe foraging, and a bibliography for further study are distributed as well.
This program is for adults and teens.
