Wallingford is home to dozens of innovative manufacturers that have played key roles in the global marketplace, contributing to the economy and community. In many cases, the products they make are cutting-edge, life-saving, and life enhancing. The Wallingford Public Library presents “Made in Wallingford,” a program series highlighting hometown industry leaders who will share their stories, challenges, and successes.
This month, Frank DiCristina, the site manager of the Wallingford plant for allnex, will talk about this leading global producer of industrial coating resins and additives for architectural, industrial, protective, automotive, and special purpose coatings, and inks. allnex has a strong global presence with 4,000 employees worldwide, 23 research and technology support facilities, and 33 manufacturing sites – one of which is here in Wallingford. The Wallingford site has been in continuous operation for 75 years and boasts a workforce of more than 120 full-time employees. The Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce recently recognized allnex with the 2017 Shining Star Excellence in Business Award.
Frank’s primary responsibilities as the site manager of the Wallingford plant include ensuring the safety, health, environmental and financial performance of the plant and its employees, as well as leading all site operations including production, maintenance, engineering, and quality activities.
