Event: Solar Eclipse Viewing Event

Monday August 21, 2017
12:30 PM until 4:00 PM

Proper Viewing of the Solar EclipseOn Monday, August 21, from approximately 1-4 pm, the moon will be covering the sun, the first eclipse of its kind to occur in over 100 years! Although we won’t have 100% coverage of the sun, it should still be mostly hidden and interesting to see. Pick up your free viewer shades starting at 10 am the day of the event for safe observation (while supplies last). Weather permitting. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, drinks and snacks, then gather on the library’s front lawn starting at 12:30pm. Max eclipse at 2:45pm. For more information, call Reference at 860-652-7720.

Shades provided by STAR Library Education Network (STAR_Net) and National Center for Interactive Learning (NCIL) at the Space Science Institute.

Location: Library Front Lawn
