“The Bobcat - Connecticut’s Secretive Wild Cat” presentation focuses on the natural history of bobcats in CT, an overview of bobcat habitat, diet, behavior, reproduction, and current research efforts. Bobcat artifacts are shared with the audience. Mountain lions are discussed.
Presenter Paul Colburn is a 2015 graduate of Master Wildlife Conservationist Program (MWCP) and is a certified Master Wildlife Conservationist (MWC).The MWCP is a Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) adult education program that trains participants in the fields of wildlife management, natural history and interpretation. The purpose of the program is to develop a volunteer corps capable of providing education, outreach, and service for state agencies, environmental organizations, libraries, schools, and the general public. Since graduating from the MWCP Paul has provided over 90 wildlife presentations across the state and assisted with various DEEP research projects. Paul is an avid outdoorsman, holds a BA from Wesleyan University and served honorably in the United States Army.
