The craft in July will be paper Quilling, the traditional art of paper filigree, that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs.
It is suggested to look on the Internet to find patterns that you are interested in making - there are 1000s! Go to Google Images and enter "quilling designs for beginners" - you can see all of the possiblities. The basic shapes will be demonstrated and material will be available to make a card, some simple jewelry and/or decortive designs.
Bring a quilling tool if you have one. There will be a quilling tool that you can purchase (and keep) in the class for a nominal fee.
The Adult Crafternoon program is held on the first Wednesday afternoon every month from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. in Program Room 1A/1B. We do a variety of craft projects using recycled materials, whenever possible, that we repurpose (or up-cycle) into Eco-Friendly objects and gifts. The specific projects will be posted in this calendar and a list of items we will be using will be available so that participants can contribute some of the materials.
Registration is required so that enough materials can be prepared for each student. Please plan to arrive 5 minutes early so that the class can begin on time. So as not to disrupt the flow of the lesson, latecomers will not be admitted once the class has begun. Children will not be allowed in the classroom.
Come to the library for a fun afternoon of creativity and conversation!
This program is sponsored by the Friends of the South Brunswick Public Library.
Suggestions for projects are always welcome at email@example.com
