Holiday Concert - Boston Jazz Voices

BOSTON JAZZ VOICES returns to Townsend for the holidays!

The temperature may be dropping and the snow flying but Boston Jazz Voices will be here in Townsend on December 9 at 2 pm with bells on our toes, some new and wonderful holiday arrangements and bearing gifts for all in the form of our brand new holiday CD.  Spare yourself a thankless trip to the mall with the rest of the post-Thanksgiving crowds and give yourself a lovely afternoon with friends and music - what could be better?

This event is sponsored by The Friends of the Townsend Public Library, The Friends of the Townsend Seniors and a grant from the Amanda Dwight Entertainment Fund!

Boston Jazz Voices is an 18 member a cappella group specializing in jazz treatments of songs from the American Songbook.  The first singers came together in April 1985 with a vision of singing the unique and dense harmonies of the great Gene Puerling who arranged and sang with the Hi Los and the Singers Unlimited and whose musical legacy lives on in virtually every jazz group today.  Even familiar tunes take on a sparkling freshness - come hear a Puerling arrangement of Silent Night that will make you wonder where THOSE  chords came from, a supersonic Jingle Bells,  Dona Nobis to an Afro-Cuban beat and many more from their holiday and standard repertoires.

Boston Jazz Voices appeared in Townsend in April and will be so pleased to return to help launch the holiday season with new friends in Townsend.
