In September, we will learn to make Paracord Survival Bracelets. The bracelets we make will be sent to Operation Gratitude to give to the troops and to first responders. These bracelets are made with 7.5 to 8 feet of 550 Paracord and can be "deployed" in three seconds, to be used in a number of ways to assist in emergencies or for survival. There is no materials fee since the bracelets made will be donated. We collected items for Operation Gratitude over the summer...these bracelets will be included in our shipment with the hats and scarves that have been made and donated. We will have materials to also write notes to the troops to send along with the donations.
In 2017, the Adult Crafternoon program will continue on the first Wednesday afternoon every month from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. in Program Room 1A/1B. We will continue to do a variety of craft projects using recycled materials, whenever possible, that we are going to repurpose (or up-cycle) into Eco-Friendly objects and gifts. The specific projects will be posted in this calendar and a list of items we will be using will be available so that participants can contribute some of the materials.
Registration is required so that enough materials can be prepared for each student. Please plan to arrive 5 minutes early so that the class can begin on time. So as not to disrupt the flow of the lesson, latecomers will not be admitted once the class has begun. Children will not be allowed in the classroom.
Come to the library for a fun afternoon of creativity and conversation!
This program is sponsored by the Friends of the South Brunswick Public Library.
