kmhstar@aol.com

Karen Harvey was trained as a classical musician and came to the world of sacred music quite by accident, but has remained there ever since! She is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music (Piano Performance), where she also studied conducting, composition and organ. Ms. Harvey is well-known to New England audiences as a solo artist and collaborative performer. She was twice awarded fellowships to the Tanglewood Music Center, and has been a featured soloist with the orchestras of Salem, Lowell, the Merrimack Valley and several universities.

She is a former faculty member at UMASS Dartmouth, the North Shore Conservatory, and Endicott College and is currently an Affiliate Artist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, she is the Music Director of Lowell's SRO Players and the Holiday Classics, an auditioned ensemble which sings 32 performances of holiday music at Faneuil Hall Marketplace between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Ms Harvey served churches of several denominations in Lowell and Waban before coming to Norwell in 1994.
