Her new book is a detailed accounting of the significant people, places, industries and events that make up the community known as Union City from the earliest beginnings to the current day culture. Included are key figures such as Ezra Decoto, E.H. Dyer, John M. Horner, and Henry Smith.

Myrla Raymundo is the founder of the Union City Historical Museum, the president of the Filipino-American Association of Alameda County, and the president of the Friends of the Union City Library. She has also served as Alameda County Commissioner and Union City Commissioner. Ms. Raymundo will answer questions about her work as a local history researcher, and sign copies of her book which will be available for purchase.
