This 20 minute program, offered 8 times each week, is designed for children 18-months old and younger and a parent. Children and their parents will sing songs, hear rhymes and short stories and play rhythmic games.

Thursday evenings at 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm
Friday mornings at 10:10 am, 10:45 am and 11:30 am

Discussion participants vary in their interests, education, and backgrounds. The selections for the 2012 season bring together a variety of stimulating writings. A list of readings to be followed is available at the circulation desk. Through shared inquiry discussions, participants benefit by examining the thoughts presented in the texts and their relevance in modern life. The Great Books Discussion Group meets in the Browsing Room of the New Cumberland Public Library.

Mission Transition 2011/2012: Preparing for Kindergarten
One Monday a month at 6:30 pm – Sept. through May (except Dec.)
Help your little one prepare for a lifetime of learning by participating in this innovative program developed by our own Pollock children’s library staff. Children from Hoover, West Creek Hills, East Pennsboro, Shaull, Hampden, Sporting Hill, Washington Heights, Lower Allen and Highland Elementaries are welcome. Future students entering kindergarten in 2012 will do Kindergarten readiness activities, hear stories, have parachute fun, and work with colors, alphabet, sorting, and rhyming words. Kids may meet other future students and make early friendships! Sessions will be on Mon., but moved to Wed. on holiday weeks. Registration starts Aug. 15, with the first session starting September 7.

Fluffy Clouds - Bring your entire family to talk about the clouds in the sky with stories and songs! There will be crafts and snacks, too!

This program is designed to offer stories, activities, crafts, and snacks appropriate for family members of all ages. We will meet at 6:30 pm every Monday.

The Monday Book Club meets at Bosler Library on the first Monday of every month (except holidays) from 7:30 - 8:45 pm. This group is open to all adults; no advance registration is necessary.

The title to be discussed at the February 6th meeting is The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit by Sloan Wilson.
