	 <title>Sun, Nov 8, 2009	 -- 	CONCERT &amp; HANDS-ON WORKSHOP: &lt;i&gt;Tabla Players of India &lt;/i&gt;  at 2:00 PM </title> 
     
	 
	 <description><![CDATA[       
This concert is presented in collaboration with Long Island Traditions. The tabla is a popular Indian percussion instrument used in music of the Indian subcontinent and in Hindustani classical music.  The concert will begin with a concert by Achyut and Tejas Tope, who are well regarded as teachers and performers.  Following the performance there will be a hands-on workshop of tabla playing taught by Sejal Kukadia, director of the Taalim School of Indian Music. <br><b> Reservations open Monday, October 19. </b>

<br> <br><i>The Sunday Concert series has been made possible with public funds from the New York State Council of the Arts, a public agency.   We thank Assemblyman Tom McKevitt and Assemblywoman Earlene Hooper for their generous support in making this series possible.   </i>

Stephen Axelrod returns to the Library with his new one man show, "Marking Time."  Still a work in progress, Steve will lead a discussion after the performance.  His last visit here with his play "Blue Collar Bay," played to an enthusiastic packed house.  Stephen has been seen in numerous films including Ron Howard’s "Ransom."  For three seasons he appeared as Detective Catalano on "Law and Order."  Reservations open on Monday, November 9.
