Winter Storytimes begin January 19th, 2010. The Storytimes are divided into two age-levels: Storytime for Two's and Three's and Storytime for Four's and Five's.

Storytime for Two's and Three's is designed for children of those ages and their parents or caretakers. The Storytime consists of a simple story and craft, as well as fingerplays, songs, or a game. It meets for seven consecutive Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 10:45 am beginning January 19th. It is also meets on Thursdays at 10:00 am to 10:45 am and 11:00 am to 11:45 am beginning January 21st.

Enrollment for all four Storytime Sessions is limited. Registration for Lincoln residents begins Tuesday, January 5th at 9:30 am. Registration for non-Lincoln residents begins Thursday, January 7th at 9:30 am. Registration will be filled on a first call/come, first serve basis.

If you are a tween, teen or adult, you are invited to the Lincoln Public Library on Tuesday, February 9th at 6:00 pm to learn how to create an amazingly spectacular Hershey’s Kiss Rose Bud Bouquet. No one will believe you made it yourself! It’s the perfect Valentine for your sweetheart, your grandparent , your teacher or your best friend.

The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program offers free tax help to low-income ($35,000 and below) and people who cannot prepare their own tax returns. Volunteers sponsored by various organizations receive training to help prepare basic tax returns in communities across the country.

VITA volunteers will be available at the Lincoln Public Library on Wednesdays from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm starting on February 3rd, and ending April 14th.

It’s cold outside and you are looking for something warm to do. Why not venture out to the Lincoln Public Library to learn how to knit yourself a cozy winter scarf? Join us on Wednesday, February 10th and 17th at 6:00 pm and we will teach you how to transform your ball of yarn into a warm and snuggly muffler. Experienced knitters are also invited to join us and can browse through a library of scarf patterns. If you would like to come, please call 333-2422 ext. 22 or visit the Reference Desk to register. A materials list will be supplied upon registration.

The following class will be offered. All attendees will be working on laptops. Classes are limited to 10 people, ages 12 and over. Please call the library at 333-2422 to register.

Word 2007, Session 3: Thursday, February 11th at 1:00pm

This class is intended for users who have some familiarity with the mouse and keyboard. This is the last in a series of three courses. Please note that this version of Word is very different from Word 2003. Please call 333-2422 ext.19 if you have any questions.
