Celebrate Black Canadian Writers with Critic Donna Bailey Nurse

Following the success of Lawrence Hill's novel The Book of Negroes, there is a growing interest in black Canadian writing. Donna Bailey Nurse is a book reviewer for The Globe and Mail and several other daily newspapers. Her presentation will examine the writing of Lawrence Hill, newcomer David Chariandy and many others.

A literary critic who specializes in the work of black Canadian authors and artists Donna has published two books of profiles and reviews of black writers. These exciting collections provide fresh perspectives on their work. Don't miss the chance to hear this vibrant speaker and to celebrate Black History Month by attending this entertaining program.
