Donna Bailey Nurse is a book reviewer for The Globe and Mail and several other daily newspapers. Her presentation will examine the writing of Lawrence Hill, newcomer David Chariandy and many others.
A literary critic who specializes in the work of black Canadian authors and artists Donna has published two books of profiles and reviews of black writers. Reading Buddies pairs teens and children together for one hour a week to practice reading and play literacy-based games. It is offered to students in grades 3-5 on Wednesdays, beginning January 13 and running eight weeks until March 3.
