How the French Impressionist Painters saw Light and Colour with Greg Murphy

The bright colours in an impressionist painting blend at a distance and create the illusion of sunlight sparkling on the surface of water and other surfaces. How does this work and why did the impressionists paint that way? This presentation will help you understand how we see colour (especially daylight) and how that knowledge will help you take better photos and paint better images. Technology in Healthcare: Past, Present and Future with Rick Tidman

Join me as we discuss the marvels of technology in healthcare. We’ll take a trip through a brief history of the evolution of medical device technology and I’ll speak to some of the key developments. Medical technology has a story of advancing in step with the practice of medicine and scientific discovery, beginning with historical battlefield triage, but this unified relationship is no longer holding true. Advances in medical technology are driving change across the healthcare spectrum. We can only speculate what this new century has in store for technology in healthcare, but at the current rate of advancement and a bit of imagination we’re in for an incredible ride into uncharted territories. Healthcare may not be quite to the Star trek level of sophistication, but we’re getting close!

The Simple Art of Complex Thinking with Neil Gonsalves

In an increasing complex world, it seems there are always too many factors to consider when making decisions. Sorting facts from catchy sound-bytes has become a full time job for some. In this presentation, we will take a light hearted approach to simplifying the process, build everyday strategies to enhance our mental agility and focus on developing critical thinking skills that can be transferred to multiple settings in professional and personal life.
