One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure introduces your young children to the wonders of stargazing with Big Bird and Elmo as their guide. They will join Elmo and his friend from China, Hu Hu Zhu, on an imaginary trip to the Moon and learn how it differs from our home, the Earth.

Target Audience: All ages - younger children welcome

    This course teaches the basic functions and features of Excel 2010.

After an introduction to spreadsheet terminology and Excel's window components, students will learn how to use the Help system and navigate worksheets and workbooks. Then they will enter and edit text, values, formulas, and pictures, and they will save workbooks in various formats. Students will also move and copy data, learn about absolute and relative references, and work with ranges, rows, and columns.

This course also covers simple functions, basic formatting techniques, and printing. Finally, students will create and modify charts, and learn how to manage large workbooks.

Students enrolling into Basic Excel should have experience with Windows 7 Operating System environment OR have taken Computer Foundations and Introducing Windows. It is strongly suggested to have taken Word 2010: Level 1 before Excel to gain familiarity with the Office ribbon and basic commands of the Office interface.

If you are new to computing, just purchased a new computer or are interested in learning about the basics of computing than this class is for you. Users will learn to navigate around the computer screen with the mouse, identify parts of the computer, and understand basic knowledge of the operating system as well as briefly explore the basics of using the internet. Additionally, users will be able to practice new skills with hands-on activities.
