Summer Reading

Lena Armstrong Public Library

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Description The idea is simple. The rewards are priceless. Read any book a day to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to reach 1000 books before your child starts kindergarten. Sounds difficult but it really isn’t. If you read a book one book a day, and yes it can be the same book every day, you will read 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in two years and 1,095 in three years. Most children begin kindergarten at age 5 so there is plenty of time to reach 1000 books. The point is to enjoy time together reading.
