Since many destinations are temporarily closed, please contact the destination before reserving or using a pass.
Please note that, due to virus concerns, the library will be CLOSED from Saturday, March 14 through Tuesday, March 31. All programs have been cancelled until further notice. Passes cannot be picked up, and most venues are closed due to coronavirus concerns. Updates will be posted on our website as necessary.
  • PLEASE RESERVE A PASS FOR THE DATE YOU WILL PICK IT UP AT THE LIBRARY, OR THE PASS MIGHT NOT BE AVAILABLE. If it is a Print on Demand pass, reserve for date of visit and print out the pass to take with you to the venue. We can also print  or email the pass for you to pick up. Please call the Library at (516) 239-3262 ext. 205 to do this.

  • Museum passes may be reserved 30 days in advance, subject to availability, and must be handled by an adult (18 years or older).

  • Reserves can also be taken in person at the Reference Desk and/or by Phone or Email.

  • One pass per family may be borrowed a maximum of once every thirty days.  This is to ensure that everyone gets a turn! The pass must be picked up by the patron who originally reserved it.

  • Passes may be borrowed for 4 days and must be returned to the Library no later than one hour before closing on the due date.  Passes may not be returned in the book drop.

  • Print on Demand passes: Firefighters Museum, The Frick Museum, Garvies Point, Intrepid Museum,  NY Transit Museum, Old Westbury Gardens and the Oyster Bay Railroad Museum can only be reserved and are valid for one day: the date of visit, and do not have to be returned.
To ensure that a museum pass can be given to the next patron, there is a $5.00 late fee per day.

  • In the event that non-return of a museum pass necessitates the Library to pay the entrance fee for the next user, that entry fee to the Museum will be attached to the delinquent borrower’s record.

  • A non-refundable fee of $25.00 will be charged to any person who loses a pass.

  • The Library Staff reserves the right to monitor usage to ensure fair access for the greatest number of patrons.

  • It is the responsibility of the user to telephone or check the Museum website in advance for information on hours of operation, parking and/or directions.

  • Library passes frequently are not valid for entrance to museum special events and fundraisers. It is the responsibility of the user to telephone or check the Museum websites in advance for information on hours of operation, parking and/or directions.

  • Passes can only be reserved at your home library using your library card number. Passes may not be reserved at other libraries.

  • Passes can be cancelled two days in advance. Failure to pick up a reserved pass by the Library’s closing time on the Date of Pickup cancels the reservation.
