Museum Passes

Please be aware that some museums are still closed due to coronavirus concerns. If you are using a pass, please check with the museum before visiting for any hour, service or procedural changes.

 

The South Country Library offers two types of passes:

Print on Demand Pass: Passes may be reserved up to 30 days in advance and can be printed from home or at the Library. This pass will only be valid for the date of the visit listed on the confirmation page, so request your pass for the day you wish to use it.

Pick Up/Return Pass:

IMPORTANT! Temporary Procedure Change:    DO NOT USE THE BOOKDROP FOR MUSEUM PASSES! The bookdrop is automatically quarantined for 72 hours, and we cannot retrieve the passes. You will be charged fines if you use the bookdrop.

Passes may be reserved online up to 30 days in advnce and can be picked up in the Children’s Department. You can choose a pick-up day of either Tuesday or Friday. Passes checked out on Tuesday are due back on Thursday by 8pm. Passes checked out on Friday are due back on Monday by 8pm. Please be aware that the next patron may be waiting for the pass. If you need to, a physical pass may be reserved back to back to cover needed days. Please bring your LICENSE and LIBRARY CARD with you to pick up museum passes. Passes will only be checked out to the patron who placed the reservation. You may pick up the pass the night before your reservation at 8pm if it is available. IMPORTANT UPDATE:  Due to Coronavirus concerns, there are changes. 

Library patrons who use the library's museum pass will no longer be required to register on the Vanderbilt website in order to visit the museum! All they need to do is to present the library card and museum pass to the staff at the front gate.Library passes cover general admission. As of November 2020, library passes NO longer give access to free planetarium shows, although you can but tickets for the discounted price of $6.00 per person. Library passes do NOT cover guided tours of the Mansion. There is no discount available in the gift shop for library pass holders, that program was discontinued several years ago. Reservations for planetarium shows cannot be made in advance when visiting with a library pass. If you would like to guarantee yourself and your family a seat for a particular planetarium show, we suggest you purchase tickets in advance on our website. It is always possible that a planetarium show sells out on any given day, and we can only accommodate guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Being in possession of a library pass does not guarantee you a seat in any particular planetarium show. CORONAVIRUS UPDATE:

For safety issues, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is limiting capacity and has changed their procedures. Masks and social distancing are required. Indoor spaces are closed, please bring your own water. You must reserve a timed spot in advance.

To reserve tickets on the Brooklyn Botanic Garden website:

Long Island Children's Museum is a learning laboratory where hands-on exhibits invite visitors to experiment, examine and play. Through lively interdisciplinary activities, children and adults can share in the excitement of the learning process as they explore the world in which we live. The museum is designed for infants and children through age 12 and their grownups.

Coe Hall is now open for private tours of The Electrifying Art and Spaces of Robert Winthrop. The exhibition tour offers a rare opportunity to see 12 works by the artist that will be on public view for the first time since the 1920s, as well as access to the two immersive murals created by Chanler for Coe Hall, the Buffalo Mural in the Breakfast Room and Mai Coe’s “Lace Room.” Advance registration online is recommended to minimize wait times and ensure no-touch entry.

To promote the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers the Foundation has implemented a new ticketing system and carefully crafted visitation procedures:

  • Tour groups will be limited to 10 participants at a time.  
  • Face coverings or masks  covering nose and mouth will be mandatory for all visitors inside Coe Hall.  The Foundation will provide face masks to visitors as needed.
  • 6 ft social distancing guidelines must always be maintained.  The entrance to Coe Hall will be marked with decals to ensure proper distancing as guests enter the building. 
  • Hand sanitizer will be readily available in locations across the grounds and within all buildings. 
  • High-touch surfaces will be disinfected throughout the day
  • Per New York State guidelines, the Foundation is required to maintain a trace log for all visitors. All guests will be asked to confirm contact information upon arrival.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE:

For safety issues, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is limiting capacity and has changed their procedures. Masks and social distancing are required. Indoor spaces are closed, please bring your own water. You must reserve a timed spot in advance.

Coe Hall is now open for private tours of The Electrifying Art and Spaces of Robert Winthrop. The exhibition tour offers a rare opportunity to see 12 works by the artist that will be on public view for the first time since the 1920s, as well as access to the two immersive murals created by Chanler for Coe Hall, the Buffalo Mural in the Breakfast Room and Mai Coe’s “Lace Room.” Advance registration online is recommended to minimize wait times and ensure no-touch entry.

To promote the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers the Foundation has implemented a new ticketing system and carefully crafted visitation procedures:

  • Tour groups will be limited to 10 participants at a time.  
  • Face coverings or masks  covering nose and mouth will be mandatory for all visitors inside Coe Hall.  The Foundation will provide face masks to visitors as needed.
  • 6 ft social distancing guidelines must always be maintained.  The entrance to Coe Hall will be marked with decals to ensure proper distancing as guests enter the building.

For safety issues, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is limiting capacity and has changed their procedures. Masks and social distancing are required. Indoor spaces are closed, please bring your own water. You must reserve a timed spot in advance.

Coe Hall is now open for private tours of The Electrifying Art and Spaces of Robert Winthrop. The exhibition tour offers a rare opportunity to see 12 works by the artist that will be on public view for the first time since the 1920s, as well as access to the two immersive murals created by Chanler for Coe Hall, the Buffalo Mural in the Breakfast Room and Mai Coe’s “Lace Room.” Advance registration online is recommended to minimize wait times and ensure no-touch entry.

To promote the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers the Foundation has implemented a new ticketing system and carefully crafted visitation procedures:

  • Tour groups will be limited to 10 participants at a time.  
  • Face coverings or masks  covering nose and mouth will be mandatory for all visitors inside Coe Hall.  The Foundation will provide face masks to visitors as needed.
  • 6 ft social distancing guidelines must always be maintained.  The entrance to Coe Hall will be marked with decals to ensure proper distancing as guests enter the building. 
  • Hand sanitizer will be readily available in locations across the grounds and within all buildings. 
  • High-touch surfaces will be disinfected throughout the day
  • Per New York State guidelines, the Foundation is required to maintain a trace log for all visitors. All guests will be asked to confirm contact information upon arrival.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE:

For safety issues, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is limiting capacity and has changed their procedures. Masks and social distancing are required. Indoor spaces are closed, please bring your own water. You must reserve a timed spot in advance.

Long Island Children's Museum is a learning laboratory where hands-on exhibits invite visitors to experiment, examine and play. Coe Hall is now open for private tours of The Electrifying Art and Spaces of Robert Winthrop. The exhibition tour offers a rare opportunity to see 12 works by the artist that will be on public view for the first time since the 1920s, as well as access to the two immersive murals created by Chanler for Coe Hall, the Buffalo Mural in the Breakfast Room and Mai Coe’s “Lace Room.” Advance registration online is recommended to minimize wait times and ensure no-touch entry.

To promote the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers the Foundation has implemented a new ticketing system and carefully crafted visitation procedures:

  • Tour groups will be limited to 10 participants at a time.  
  • Face coverings or masks  covering nose and mouth will be mandatory for all visitors inside Coe Hall.  The Foundation will provide face masks to visitors as needed.
  • 6 ft social distancing guidelines must always be maintained.  The entrance to Coe Hall will be marked with decals to ensure proper distancing as guests enter the building. 
  • Hand sanitizer will be readily available in locations across the grounds and within all buildings. 
  • High-touch surfaces will be disinfected throughout the day

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE:

For safety issues, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is limiting capacity and has changed their procedures. Masks and social distancing are required. Indoor spaces are closed, please bring your own water. You must reserve a timed spot in advance.

Coe Hall is now open for private tours of The Electrifying Art and Spaces of Robert Winthrop. The exhibition tour offers a rare opportunity to see 12 works by the artist that will be on public view for the first time since the 1920s, as well as access to the two immersive murals created by Chanler for Coe Hall, the Buffalo Mural in the Breakfast Room and Mai Coe’s “Lace Room.” Advance registration online is recommended to minimize wait times and ensure no-touch entry.

To promote the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers the Foundation has implemented a new ticketing system and carefully crafted visitation procedures:

  • Tour groups will be limited to 10 participants at a time.  
  • Face coverings or masks  covering nose and mouth will be mandatory for all visitors inside Coe Hall.  The Foundation will provide face masks to visitors as needed.
  • 6 ft social distancing guidelines must always be maintained.  The entrance to Coe Hall will be marked with decals to ensure proper distancing as guests enter the building.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:  Due to Coronavirus concerns, there are changes. 

Library patrons who use the library's museum pass will no longer be required to register on the Vanderbilt website in order to visit the museum! All they need to do is to present the library card and museum pass to the staff at the front gate.Library passes cover general admission. As of November 2020, library passes NO longer give access to free planetarium shows, although you can but tickets for the discounted price of $6.00 per person. Library passes do NOT cover guided tours of the Mansion. There is no discount available in the gift shop for library pass holders, that program was discontinued several years ago. Reservations for planetarium shows cannot be made in advance when visiting with a library pass. If you would like to guarantee yourself and your family a seat for a particular planetarium show, we suggest you purchase tickets in advance on our website. It is always possible that a planetarium show sells out on any given day, and we can only accommodate guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Being in possession of a library pass does not guarantee you a seat in any particular planetarium show. CORONAVIRUS UPDATE:

For safety issues, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is limiting capacity and has changed their procedures. Masks and social distancing are required. Indoor spaces are closed, please bring your own water. You must reserve a timed spot in advance.

To reserve tickets on the Brooklyn Botanic Garden website:

2. Click on the date on the calendar when you would like to attend.

3. When you click on the day you want, it will ask you to select a time AND a specific entrance.

4. Once you have selected time and specific entrance, click on the green “Get Tickets” button.

5. On the next screen, be sure to click on “Affiliated Organization Tickets” because you are using the free library museum pass. You may select up to 2 adults and then select the number of children if applicable.

The library is not responsible for booking your timed reservation, or for garden closures or added fees.

  • As of July 9th, the museum's new operating hours are Thursday – Sunday 10 am-4 pm.
  • The museum has closed off, redesigned, or removed some hands-on exhibit interactives.

  • The Theater, Planetarium, Junior Jet Club, and Nunley’s Carousel are temporarily closed as per NYS direction.

COVID UPDATE:  The Museum will reopen on a modified schedule:  Thursday through Sunday from 10 am - 3 pm starting Sept 5, 2020. 

Library passes are redeemed at our Box Office. You do not need to purchase or reserve online tickets with a library pass. 

  • Facemasks are required for all Museum staff and visitors over the age of 2 as per New York State law.

Long Island Children's Museum is a learning laboratory where hands-on exhibits invite visitors to experiment, examine and play. Through lively interdisciplinary activities, children and adults can share in the excitement of the learning process as they explore the world in which we live. The museum is designed for infants and children through age 12 and their grownups.

Coe Hall is now open for private tours of The Electrifying Art and Spaces of Robert Winthrop. The exhibition tour offers a rare opportunity to see 12 works by the artist that will be on public view for the first time since the 1920s, as well as access to the two immersive murals created by Chanler for Coe Hall, the Buffalo Mural in the Breakfast Room and Mai Coe’s “Lace Room.” Advance registration online is recommended to minimize wait times and ensure no-touch entry.

To promote the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers the Foundation has implemented a new ticketing system and carefully crafted visitation procedures:

  • Tour groups will be limited to 10 participants at a time.  
  • Face coverings or masks  covering nose and mouth will be mandatory for all visitors inside Coe Hall.  The Foundation will provide face masks to visitors as needed.
  • 6 ft social distancing guidelines must always be maintained.  The entrance to Coe Hall will be marked with decals to ensure proper distancing as guests enter the building. 
  • Hand sanitizer will be readily available in locations across the grounds and within all buildings. 
  • High-touch surfaces will be disinfected throughout the day
  • Per New York State guidelines, the Foundation is required to maintain a trace log for all visitors. All guests will be asked to confirm contact information upon arrival.
