Museum Passes

Reserve a pass for the date you will pick it up at the library

1. The dates below don't confirm the museum is open. It is the responsibility of the user to telephone or check the Museum* website in advance for information on dates/hours of operation, parking and/or directions.

2. Passes may be borrowed for 3 days, including date of pick up and date of return. They must be returned to the Library no later than one hour before closing on the due date. Passes may not be returned in the book drop.

3. Available to Plainedge School District residents who hold a Plainedge Public Library card in good standing (not expired and without fines).

4. Museum Passes may be reserved 30 days in advance.

5. You must be an adult (18 years or older) in order to reserve and checkout museum passes

6. A maximum of 1 pass per family may be borrowed at one time, and each individual Museum pass may be borrowed only once a month.

7. To ensure that a Museum Pass can be given to the next patron, there is a $10.00 late fee per day.

8. In the event that non-return of a Museum Pass necessitates the Library to pay the entrance fee for the next user that entry fee to that Museum will be attached to the borrower’s record.

9. Any user who loses a Museum Pass will be charged the replacement cost of that Museum Pass. (See Reference for cost).

10. The Library Staff reserves the right to monitor usage to ensure fair access for the greatest number of patrons.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: The date you reserve below will only confirm the Library is open to pickup the ticket but it does not mean the museum is open. Due to the following reasons, we ask the patron to call and confirm the Museum is OPEN on the proposed reservation date(s).

Located at the former Republic Aviation Complex, this museum houses aircraft made at the factory, as well as exhibits of aviation artifacts. On display is a WWII Bomber that flew missions some 70 years ago.

This pass admits up to 2 adults and 2 children per day.

A tribute to the history of aviation on Long Island, this museum features permanent exhibits detailing from the first flights on the Hempstead Plains through space exploration right up to contemporary Aviation.

This pass admits up to 2 adults and 4 children.

 

Nassau County Firefighters Museum and Education Center

Tracing the history of firefighters in Nassau County, this special museum features antique and contemporary firefighting equipment and hands on exhibits of contemporary fire apparatus and gear.

Admits up to 4 visitors per day.

After 99 years as a New York trout hatchery, this museum opened as a non—profit educational center dedicated to educating visitors about the freshwater ecosystem of New York. They are proud to have the largest living collection of New York freshwater reptiles, fishes, and amphibians. Visitors can tour two aquarium buildings and eight outdoor ponds, feed the hungry trout, and try “Catch & Keep” fishing.

Along with a rocky beach and prominent cliffs, the Garvies Point Museum is situated on a preserve of 62 acres of forests, thickets and meadows. The museum is a center for research on Long Island geology and Long Island’s Native American archaeology.

This pass admits up to 4 adults or 2 adults/4 children.

The museum’s collection spans 500 years of Western art with particular emphasis on the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries. The collection has more than 2500 pieces by American and European artists, including American landscape paintings and work by Long Island artists.
