Museum Passes

Due to COVID-19 many museum passes remain unavailable. As venues open up, passes will be added back into the reservation system.

Reservations for discounted museum passes are available ahead of time for Whitman residents with a valid adult card from the Whitman Public Library. Coupon passes are available for curbside pick-up Monday-Friday, 10-4.

Please contact the library at (781) 447-7613 to notify staff of your museum pass reservation so it can be made available for curbside pick-up.

After receiving a library discount pass, you must reserve a visit online with Boston Children’s Museum. Due to safety measures, walk-ins are not allowed. Museum capacity is limited at this time.

  1. Patrons must first acquire a dated library discount pass.
  2. Then visit https://www.bostonchildrensmuseum.org/ticketing
  3. Review the directions for timed tickets
  4. Click on the "Discount Programs" & drop down arrow
  5. Click on "Half Price Library Timed Ticket " to book
  6. NEW - Online reservations are required to visit PlaySpace.
  7. The date on the library discount pass must match the date of your visit.
  8. After arriving at the Museum, proceed to the admissions scanning station with your online reservation and the date specific library discount pass. If you have questions about the online ordering system, contact Orders@BostonChildrensMuseum.org.

This e-ticket is valid only for one day. You can either print it out and take it with you or display the pass on your phone or device. Either way, please be sure that the pass barcode is visible.

  • The MFA is now open five days a week: Wednesday–Sunday, 10 am–5 pm. Visit mfa.org for information about health, safety, and what’s on view.
  • All visitors (including institutional pass holders) will be required to reserve a timed-entry ticket for admission for special exhbitions. General Admission tickets are no longer timed-entry and are valid for the entire day of your visit.
  • A library pass will not be accepted for admission into the Museum. Patrons can use the promo code below to reserve discounted admission tickets ahead of the reservation date.
  • The unique promo code for the Whitman Public Library allows patrons to redeem their admission discount online:  IP-2127
  • Each promo code use provides up to two people with $10 admission per person (discounted from the regular general admission charge of $25 per person and the regular special exhibition charge of $30 per person).
  • To reserve discounted tickets online, patrons must visit mfa.org/tickets, select the date and type of ticket, and enter the promo code on the top right corner of the next page, which will activate the reduced admission rate.

  3. Please call at least 1-2 days ahead to reserve your timeslot otherwise the Museum might be fully booked.
  4. After you make your timed reservation with the Museum, they will send you an email confirmation with your reservation time.
  5. Please bring both your library pass confirmation (printed or displayed on a phone) and your email confirmation from the Museum when you visit. Show both confirmations at the gate to enter. You do not need to stop at the Box Office.

In light of the CDC’s recommendation, effective August 7, 2021 the New England Aquarium will require all guests over the age of five regardless of vaccination status to wear face coverings while indoors at our main building (including in our New Balance Foundation Marine Mammal Center) and Simons Theatre. While we strongly encourage children ages two to five to wear a face covering, we leave this to the discretion of their caregivers. Individuals with medical conditions that preclude them from wearing a mask will be required to wear a face shield. Staff who interact with guests are also required to wear face coverings.

**COVID-19 UPDATE: Patrons will still have the opportunity to purchase the reduced admission timed tickets with the passes through the New England Aquarium's Reservations & Sales Department ahead of their visit (617) 973-5206, or onsite at the Box Office. Patrons should reference the barcode on the bottom (backside) of the library pass when calling to reserve timed tickets. We strongly encourage advanced booking as onsite sales are subject to availability. If tickets are not available for the date that appears on the pass, NEAQ will be allowing tickets to be booked for a date and time in the near future from the date on the pass.
