Hello from a Japanese Classroom

Attention 7th-10th graders!

Join us to meet and talk with Japanese junior high school students in their classroom! Spend an hour learning about the interesting daily life in rural Japan and having the opportunity to introduce California and American lifestyles to a class of students in Obira, a small and rural town in west Hokkaido. These Japanese students are excited to use the English they have learned to communicate with people around the world! We will be live video chatting in the Fukaya Room A on Thursday, March 1st from 4:30 – 5:30 P.M.

Here are a few messages from the students:

"Hello!! We are Japanese junior high school students who are 15 years old. We want to talk about sports and share about each other’s country’s culture with you in English using video chat. But we can’t speak English well. If you are interested in this, we want to talk with you. Why don’t we talk and have a good time??"

"Hello! We are Obira J.H.S students. We are so happy to talk with you! We want to know about you. So let’s talk a lot. Do you know Obira? Obira snows in the winter and we can swim in the sea in the summer. Obira has many delicious foods. We are looking forward to talking with you!"
