Summer volunteering opportunity for incoming 7th - 9th graders! 

The Fremont Main Library Children's Department is looking for Kid Power volunteers to help with our Summer Reading Game and special summer events. This volunteer opportunity is open to kids going into 7th-9th grades next school year. Have fun and earn service hours too! 

The Kid Power Volunteer program runs from June 11 - August 19, 2018. Kid Power Volunteers who work at least 10 hours during the summer are invited to an end of the summer volunteer party.

Summer Reading Game Volunteer Orientation

Are you going into 6th, 7th, or 8th grade next fall? Sign up to be a Summer Squad Volunteer this summer at the Newark Library!

The Summer Squad program is a good way for you to serve the public and to fulfill volunteering hours for school. At the same time you will develop work skills and experience. A Summer Squad Volunteer’s primary duty is to help patrons of all ages play the Summer Reading Game. Math Boot Camp Diagnostic Tests (2)

These diagnostic tests are for students interested in the Math Boot Camps on Algebra I, Algebra II, or Trigonometry.  Boot Camps will be held in July through August, one week each for each topic.

Due to limited space of the camps, the diagnostic tests are required to identify qualified students.  A lottery may be held to determine the official registrants if the number of qualfied students exceeds the capaciy of the camp.

Participantion of the diagnotic tests does not quarantee a spot in the program.  You will be notified if you are officially enrolled in the program within 2 weeks after the diagnotic tests.

Each test will be thirty minutes, students may take up to two tests and can only attend one date.

Read-With-Me is a  one-on-one reading program designed for children grades 1 to 6 to improve English with a teen volunteer on weekly basis.  

Priorities are given to children performing below grade level.  Registration starts January 1, 2018.  Seats are limited and fill up very quickly so sign up as early as possible.

Join us on Fridays from 3:30 to 6:00 PM to either learn the game or to play it.  

All ages and levels are welcome!
