The Agawam Library is temporarily located at the Agawam Senior Center. The address is 954 Main St, Agawam, MA 01001. The hours are Mon.-Thurs. 8am-8pm, Fri & Sat, 9am-5pm.

Come to Children's Room in the Senior Center to pick up supplies for the craft this week.

Recommended for families and/or kids ages 3+.

English Language Classes

This free class is sponsored by the Friends of the Agawam Public Library, and is open to all adult learners who are looking to improve their English in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing.  This course will cover grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and various aspects of conversational English.  Classes are held on Wednesdays from 6:00—7:30 p.m.

Giselle Rose-Burroughs, the instructor, is a former Berlitz Languages Instructor with extensive experience as an American English Language Coach.

American Sign Language Class
6:00 PM - 6:45 PM

This course is taught in 4-45 minutes Virtual Zoom sessions with a live ASL instructor.  All class handouts are included.  Supporting videos of instructors signing the vocabulary you learn during class will be available as well.  A recurring Zoom link will be sent to you on the first day of class.  Please note, you are expected to attend all four sessions. All participants need to join the course with cameras on, as ASL is a visual language.  Teachers and students must be able to see each other.

The virtual sign language class will include:

ASL Manual Alphabet

Greetings

Days of the week

Food and snacks

ASL negotiations and affermations

How to form basic ASL sentence structure that brings together the signs learned in class
